……. when you get to the Land….
I am sure I could do a manual count, or use AI, my spitball estimate of this line being repeated??? Without counting manually? I’d say easily 125 different times.
Is there a Judaism that is not "in the land"?
Yes. Is there a Judaism that is "in the land"?
Yes. RASHI [apparently] basically, without sounding mean, sort of leans that Torah outside Israel… is "practicing"…. and Torah in Israel is, I guess more the real deal.
There are probably 100s of thousands of lines in the Talmud and other sources that go on and on about the significance of Israel itself.
Recall the Land also "spit out" the other nations that were here due to their behaviors.
Are other lands allergic to their inhabitants?
Is there any other place that kicks people out who are selfish [as it says about Sodom/Gommra]; have all the sexual behaviors that are listed, that put their kids to Molach?
In other words, if the SAME behaviors would be done somewhere else… do they people get kicked out?
Maybe if THEY [or more specifically on the personal individual level] [[[ "when YOU" ]]
see it that way.
In the end, sof haKol…. do YOU specifically as a private person think that YOU are so interesting to God creator of the Entire universe that God Itself pays attention?
……
When YOU [the person reading the verse] You the individual hear the Torah that was said to Moses, who said it to Yehoshua Ben Nun, who said it to the Elders, who said it to the Prophets…. if YOU truly believe / feel /accept the verse, then…. it applies
This what the Torah means [in part] to when YOU don’t listen, you are "cut off" from the Am.
Harsh! Fundamentally the Am is made up of individuals, and the grand Idea is that the Land, to use an example, is a giant boat.
It has a Captain [Moses], co-Captain [Aaron] ;
Yehoshua is the Understudy to the Captain.
Etc etc. The engine is the Ark ….
So if 1 person on the boat does not "believe"…. it can and does affect that person [and depending on what was done] could affect others.
What about when you are off the boat? , living "ba’hutz’?
Is it just freedom? The Ultimate Captain [God] not around? The Talmud comes around and says God is with us in Exile. I mean obviously!!
But what is so special about "the Land"????
It is entirely and utterly up to YOU — the lone individual. The more one leans into the faith as taught … the more the Boat succeeds.
And the person also can / will experience material benefits [stated in a later section, in Devariim].. …. of course we’re contantly told to participate in the grand mission for its own sake.
….. when YOU… get to the Land…
