***** about us, the Am ****

A few parshas ago, the Torah tells us about what we will say at the place God will show us [Jerusalem] … during the celebration of the 1st Fruits …

And inside this declaration [and again we are to be happy that we are giving our tithes in Jerusalem]… we are obligated to mention our hardships of being slaves in Egypt

The last few months every post on X and Times of Israel has been "how can we be happy / celebrate" when there are hostages and so many soldiers and citizens dead"??

I mean…. this is not new for us as a people to be attacked on Holiday. There are so many thousands of times this has happened… and yes "even" when we have our own army.

All I can say on the matter is… Chazal and other chachamim set up our Haftorah readings and special readings to read on SHABBOT …. and Kohelet goes on and on in a quite depressing matter…. and we read about the END OF DAYs during tzman simchatanu!!!

So IF hazal knew how to throw cold water on our celebrations we should learn that the two can be mixed together
