Pikey avot says to make fences around the torah. the talmud is full of examples where the rabbis were worried that a person "might" come to sin so, they made fences…. and anyone who lives in any dati community knows all about maryis eyan (don’t do x y z or other people might think). countless examples of this abound inside judaism. well, this weeks Haftorah, our good friend and Prophet Isaiah went OFF on … many things. But one of his God inspired words were literally against measures and measures a little here a little there…. so, .. discuss!, how do the "rabbis" have more weight than a Prophet of God??????
