There is a teaching… that the "higher" a person is spirtually the consequences of their mistake[s], are greater… so Moses does not get into Eretz Canaan [now called Israel] due to [a few actions], one was his anger,… and midda kenegna midda, God has A Balance Sheet

, one can / could make an argument based on the instant death of Aaron’s sons… that they were on a higher spiritual level than Adam Rishon and Chava Emenu because even though the Torah says if they eat from the tree they will die, they both did not die that moment and in fact lived hundreds of years more[!]

I recall at one [or more] of the many places I’ve learned that the Talmud gives over 20 different sins / mistakes / reasons for the death of Aarons 2 sons [!!!]] Meaning there are wide variety of reasons.

We know exactly the 1 reason that Adam / Chava lost Eden !! There is no dispute because the text itself is clear. They had 1 job and blew it

Now all the various opinions about why the 2 sons got the death penalty are [most likely] based on the text / verses of the Torah, it should be known that there was [and is] more than 1 opinion.
