Part 4
People get "turned off" for millions of reasons, and each one of those reasons is usually valid to that specific person….
And the list is long. Abusive parents dressed in religious garb ; abusive teachers dressed in religious garb ; cheaters dressed in religious garb ;
Boredom ; frustration ; feeling unheard by God, their parents, their school[s] ; religion / routine is hard. Praying everyday tiresome. Same words for 1000+ years. Not seeing / experiencing any consequence for whatever mitveh they skipped / didn’t do.
Nothing changes — nothing matters,
Who are "they" to tell me what to do"? "God is everywhere, I can pray when / where I want"
The Bible is a myth story, like the Odessey, Iliad, Gigalmesh. Everyone comes up with a national orgin story. There were redactors of the Torah, J, E, P, D
And on and on. Probably 613 reasons for not being dati 😉
And all of them valid — to the person who decided.
Typically [and I include myself] we very easily justify every decision we make. Otherwise we would have decided something else!!!! Even "not" deciding is a decision.
Pleading ignorance ; blaming others, … being angry. B"emet simply not seeing God interacting in ones life.
The ClockMaker God. Started the Clock and then "stepped" back / away to allow Free Will
On and on and on.
Look, I have not met 7 billion people, but at least the few people I have met and in the scheme of the entire Universe, the # of people I’ve met is practically zero, but anyway, I for sure have met some people, and I can report that nearly all of them have made reasons for their decisions.
And again, it bears repeating they themselves justified their choice[s]
Nadav and Abihu, they made a choice. Maybe several [which is why the Talmud gives so many opinions]
And their choices killed them.
How are the millions of choices we make affecting us??????
